Jen Lewis, Founder, CEO
I’ve known Jen since 2011 or so after moving from Los Angeles to help establish Raven & Lily in Austin, Texas. It was wonderful to reconnect with her and start the process of helping P&C grow in their wholesale and retail business with a new logo and some fresh leather handbag designs. I began the process by having a couple of zoom calls to understand where P&C was and where they are wanting to go. From there I put together some proposals of desgins, gathered stats from old sales reports, feedback from current customers, and from there set out to design over 30 leather goods. They sent me to Ethiopia for 2 weeks to develop the bags (my 11th trip!) and it was so good to return to a place I’ve known so well in the past. We split the collection to launch some of the collection for AW25 and SS26, and also featuring different leather textures and colorways for each season.
INSPIRATION: Jen has been a quiet and steady pioneer in the ethical fashion space, championing brands, artisans, and the Down syndrome community with unwavering integrity. As CEO of Purse & Clutch, she has gracefully navigated the highs and lows of a volatile market, growing her business in a way that honors everyone it touches — from makers to customers.
What sets Jen apart is her rare combination of gentleness and strength. She’s inventive, fierce when needed, and deeply consistent — showing up through thick and thin, staying true to her values when it would be easier not to. Her leadership and resilience continue to inspire me and so many others in the conscious business community.
A new logo was needed after the brand had evolved in its business model after more than 10 years. The goal was to create a logo that honored the past while boldly looking into the future. This minimalist logo, composed of a rectangle with 2 half circles and a central line, carries a profound message of care, balance, and connection. The half-circles represent individuals and communities, or past and future, that, when placed together, become a whole circle, while the central line symbolizes a bridge of understanding, compassion and shared purpose. Encased within the rectangle, this design speaks to the idea of structure and stability, reminding us that by supporting one another, we create a world that is both harmonious and strong. The new logo will be used as the insignia on all the leather bags as well as in print and web materials.
